Women's Ministry
As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught,
abounding in it with thanksgiving.Colossians 2:6-7

The purpose of Women’s ministry as an extension of the purpose of the church:
to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.Eph 4:11-12

It is our goal then to minister to the needs of women equipping them to fulfill God’s plan for their lives. Therefore, our desire is that the women of Calvary Redding:
  1. To Know God And Have Fellowship With Him: Jesus said "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God,and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." John 17:3

  2. To Cultivate A Yielded Spirit And Submissive Heart: “but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.1Pe 3:4

  3. Be In Fellowship With Other Sisters In Christ To Support And Encourage One Another:
"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." Heb 10:24-25

  4. Understand The Ministry We Have As God’s Women: “the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.Tit 2:3-5
It is our desire through Women’s Ministry to provide a place and atmosphere that will encourage and promote personal growth in the lives of individual women in their love, knowledge and service of our Lord Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this through three avenues:

I. Bible Study/Fellowship

Our women’s Bible study is a monthly study that consists of teaching, discussion group (homework questions) and fellowship. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month, there is a morning and evening meeting. Child-care is provided for the morning session only. Each year our study changes, over the years we have studied: the book of James, Ephesians, 1 Thessalonians, Proverbs, and Women of the Bible. This year 2006-07 will be a study on the Attributes of God.

All women are welcome, if you are interested in being a part of this study please sign up in the foyer so that a book will be ordered for you, or contact the church office.

II. Titus Two Tuesday

This is a ministry especially for the younger married women or single moms. Our purpose is to come alongside mothers of young children and/or women in their early years of marriage offering Biblical training, encouragement and support. We want to encourage these women to make the necessary time to grow in their walk with God, as this is their source of strength to be an example to their children and fulfill their God given role in the home.

We meet once a month at 9:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday morning of each month beginning in September through May. The meeting will alternate between Biblical instruction for our lives (i.e. loving husbands, training/disciplining children, homemaking, etc.) and practical skills of homemaking (i.e. cooking, organization, decorating, gardening, etc.).

Children are not only welcome to attend they are encouraged! In order that the mothers can relax, knowing that their children are being well cared for, and be ministered to, enabling them to fulfill their Biblical role; all children ages infant – 3rd grade will be cared for by an especially loving and qualified staff using a fun curriculum sure to keep them busy and happy. This is a very important aspect of this ministry. We want the time spent with the children to be productive in their lives as well as their mothers.

We have a limited capacity for this ministry, if you are interested in the Titus Two ministry you must complete a registration form and turn it in, and we will contact you.

III. Friday morning prayer

Every Friday morning at 8:30 women gather together to pray for specific requests that come in throughout the week and the needs of our church. We meet at the church in the 4-6 Sunday School class.

One of the blessings of being part of this important ministry is that through praying for the need of others we develop an attitude of:

Phillipians 2:3-4
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.  Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

and Galatians 6:2Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
