“As
you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in
Him,rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you
have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” Col. 2:6-7
The purpose of the Women’s ministry, as an extension of the purpose of the church is “to equip the saints for the work of the ministry" (Eph. 4:11-12). It is our goal then to minister to the needs of the women, equipping them to fulfill God’s plan for their lives.
Therefore, our desire is that the women of Calvary Chapel Redding:
I. Know God And Have Fellowship With Him: Jesus said "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God,and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." John 17:3 II. Cultivate A Yielded Spirit And Submissive Heart: “but
let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible
ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the
sight of God." I Peter 3:4” III. Be In Fellowship With Other Sisters In Christ To Support And Encourage One Another: "And
let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of
some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the
Day approaching." Heb. 10:24-25 IV. Understand The Ministry We Have As Women of God: “the
older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not
slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things that they
admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their
children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their
own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed." Titus 2:3-5It
is our desire through the Women's Ministry to provide a place and an
atmosphere that encourages and promotes spiritual growth in the lives of the women in their love, knowledge and service of our Lord
Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this through the following three
avenues:I. Bible Study/Fellowship The women’s study is on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. and begins in the Fall. Child-care is provided for the morning session only. The study consists of teaching, discussion groups, (homework questions) and fellowship. Each
year our study changes, over the years we have studied: the book of
James, Ephesians, 1 Thessalonians, Proverbs, Women of the Bible, and the Attributes of God. During 2008-09, we went through Jerry Bridges book, Pursuing Holiness. All women are welcome, if you are interested in being a part of this study please contact the church office.
II. Titus Two TuesdayThis ministry is especially for younger married women or single moms with children still in the home. Our
purpose is to come alongside these mothers with Biblical training, encouragement and support. We
want to encourage them to make the necessary time to grow in
their walk with God, as He is their source of strength, and to be an example
to their children, fulfilling their God given role in the home. We meet at 9:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday morning of each month beginning in September through May. The
meetings alternate between Biblical instruction (i.e.
loving husbands, training/disciplining children, homemaking, etc.) and
practical instruction in homemaking (i.e. cooking, organization, decorating,
gardening, etc.).
Children are welcome, in fact mothers are encouraged to bring their children. Children ages infant through 3rd grade are cared for by a loving and qualified staff using a curriculum that is sure to keep them occupied and happy. This is a very important aspect of this ministry and we want the time spent with the children as well as the mothers to be fruitful. If you are interested in the Titus Two ministry please contact the church office.
III. Friday morning prayerEvery
Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. women gather to pray for
requests that come in throughout the week and the needs of the church. We meet at the church in the 4th -6th grade Sunday School class. “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Gal. 6:2 |
